 I often see a lot of saying how you should set up and start a business but nobody really explains HOW.

Below, I’ve tried to explain the exact business method and the processes that I use to earn an extra $6000/mo. I hope that you can learn from the concepts and processes and finally make a passive income online.

The best part of this method is you can get set up and started quickly with limited money behind you. It will require a little work in the beginning but once you are set up and have your systems in place, you can start to automate and step aside.

It took me 8 months to hit my financial goals and targets ($6000 per month). You will need to be patient in the beginning. There will be times particularly in the early days, where you feel that you may not be making much progress. There will be days of high sales and low sales. That is business.

Its important to keep telling yourself that you can and will quit your day job if this succeeds. The more consistent you can be the more likely this will happen.

Shopify + AliExpress Dropshipping business.

Step 1 - Shopify Store (link at end) is an online eCommerce platform that makes creating, managing and scaling your store very easy.

You can create a professional looking store in around 45 minutes and its completely free for the first 14 days.

It may take a little bit of extra time to fully customize your store (2–3 hours) to how you like it. Its important to create a brand that your customers want to buy into.

With Shopify it is very easy to set up and customize your store.

Step 2 - AliExpress (link at end) is an online marketplace based in China where you can source your products. They are considerably cheaper than elsewhere online and you can add significant profit margins onto each product. You can even customize your products if you contact individual sellers. It’s very simple, all you need to do is research on AliExpress for the best and most in demand products. Here’s some of the products available on AliExpress

  • Electronics,
  • Fashion & Clothing,
  • Phone Cases and Accessories,
  • Computer Electronics,
  • Toys
  • Jewelry
  • Home and Garden
  • and more.

So, you are not just limited to Phone Cases.

The more you can find unique products in a passionate or profitable niche the easier it will be to get customers and to make profit!

The main benefit of AliExpress is that you can purchase individual products considerably cheaper than they would cost from a US/European Supplier and they can ship directly to your customers (for a minimal fee)

Also when you make a sale, the supplier will completely handle all of the packaging, shipping and handling. There’s nothing you need to do.

  • You will be dropshipping which essentially means customers will go onto your site and place their order. With the money they just paid you, you will go over to AliExpress and purchase the order (and add the delivery address to your customer). This enables you to operate without having to invest in stock or hold any inventory.

Step 3 - Find Unique and Trending Products- Now if you wonder why you see a lot of random and quirky phone cases and accessories around, this is exactly what fellow entrepreneurs are doing. These kind of products are successful because everyone has a mobile phone and constantly wants a new case (they are either upgrading their device, broken their case, get bored etc).

So the process is really quite simple:

1) Research for your Niche and Idea

2) Search for the Products on AliExpress

3) Create Product Listings for them on your Shopify store.

4) Advertise and make your income.

It doesn’t have to be difficult, just find the top selling products on AliExpress or some of the most in demand and trending products.

Step 4 - Advertise - You will need to get visitors to your store to get customers. This is essential if you want to profit and succeed. You cannot make any sales if no one ever comes to your store so you have to advertise and advertise well.

Here are some great free ways to drive traffic direct to your store:

  • Instagram - This is one of the most popular platforms right now and all of the big companies and ecommerce sites are using it to drive traffic and sales. To ensure you reach your audience use relevant hashtags and post several times per day.
  • Instagram Influencers – These are accounts that have built up big followings of people interested in certain things or niches. You can direct message them asking if they are willing to promote your product: Something like
    • Hi, great account and content. Do you offer shout-outs and if so what are your prices?
      • They will respond to you and tell you how much per post or shoutout. You then have to send them an image and your product URL that you want to send their followers to.
      • Do your research and only buy shoutouts from trusted accounts that have real legitimate traffic. A great way to find this is through this simple Engagement rate formula:

#of average likes/ # of followers. You want at least 20% engagement rate.

  • So, you would want at least 80K likes on a 400K account. Otherwise, look for another account.
  • Facebook – Facebook is another terrific way to obtain your customers. You can set up groups and pages that will interest people in your niche.

How much can you make? - Now that you have a store with unique products, lets take a look at some of the numbers that you can look to receive.

You can order a unique iPhone case for $2 on AliExpress.

And you can expect to sell it for $10–$15 on your store.

That’s a great profit margin.

On the low end, thats $8 profit,

On the high end, thats $13 profit

Remember, you will make sales because:

  1. Your store looks professional and it is easy to order from
  2. You will have unique products that are not available in stores
  3. You are going after people who always need what you have to sell.

So, continuing our example, let’s say that we found an Instagram Page with 600K followers. You can expect around 100K people to see that content. If you offer $30 to the person in charge of the Instagram.

  • Even if %2 click your link that is 100K*0.02= 2,000 people sent to your store.
  • Even if out of that 2,000 %1 choses to complete a purchase, 2000*0.01 = 20 sales
  • That is 20 x $13 = $260 in revenue - $30 shoutout fee = $230 in pure profit

$230, not too bad from one Instagram post is it?

And this is being conservative. But you will be going after people actually interested in your niche and what you have to sell. So, now imagine with these numbers

  • If %5 click your link that is 100K*0.05 = 5,000 people sent to your store.
  • If out of that 5,000, %2 complete a purchase 5,000*0.02 = 100 sales
  • That is 100 x $13 = $1300 in revenue - $30 shoutout fee = $1270 in pure profit

If you do just 3–5 campaigns like this per month, you are looking at +$5000 monthly income.

Overview:

  • You started a business with just $0
  • You created an online eCommerce store for free in under 5hrs
  • It will require around 8 hours of work/week
  • In 3 months you can expect +$2000
  • In 6 months you can expect +$6000 or even more
